The company began in 1927 as a small, high quality carpentry shop, founded by NURETTIN KUNURKAYA  in Ankara, Turkey. The company espouses the safeguarding of product and service quality, continuous development and innovation alongside increasing production and the use of the newest technologies. With the entry of the second generation into the family business in the 1960’s, the company began producing home furnishings and opened stores and a showroom in Ankara. Over the years, the studio turned into a factory, which began producing furniture on a large scale. In the early 1980’s they began focusing on office furniture and opened a research and development department within the company. Great emphasis is put on the quality of the workmanship and the design, which comply with British and U.S. quality standards. Nurus became the first Turkish furniture company to employ internationally renowned designers and the first to win awards for its designs. The company is currently active in the international market and exports to 30 countries around the globe.
